WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  LET GO OF THE EGO

I try to be positive and encouraging. But God has been dealing with me to tackle this subject. Let it be a warning to all in the church. We have gotten away from our foundation and allowed the world and our ego to creep in to the church.

Jesus is coming after a bride who has made herself ready. It is time we start getting ready for the bride groom to come and take us away. But right now, the bride had smudges, wrinkle and spots of contention. The body was never meant to be divided into denominations. There needs to be unity in the body.  There is not one denomination that is completely right.

I have seen it happen time and time again, people start out on fire for God. They have pure intentions to do the will of God. They are humble and want nothing more than God’s will. They get in a place that God’s anointing is on them and he begins to use them. BAM! It happens, “EGO”. They start getting exalted and start feeling like they are the reason that good things are happening. Never thinking about giving God the glory. I have seen this happen many times.

We can easily walk in our flesh and become overconfident. This is the opposite of humility. Any seasoned child of God that walks in his anointing understands. They have to fully rely on him. The deeper we walk in his will the more need we have for him to be in control. We do not want to fall or fail. We can prevent falling by guarding our spirit, we do not want pride to take us over or we will fall.

Prov 16:18-19 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. 19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

The word haughty means arrogant, prideful, having a superior attitude. Looking down on others. These people are self-important and self- righteous.

I Cor 10:11-12 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

The tenth chapter of I Corinthians is a good chapter to read concerning this subject.  It lists all the ways the Israelite disappointed God. All the ways they were disobedient and prideful. That is why they were punished and some were destroyed.

When we want to gain man’s favor by trying to make them think we are so good and so spiritual, that is rebellion. We are exalting ourselves and not God. We need to have favor with God. His opinion is the only one that matters.

Luke 14:11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

The word abased means to be lowered, brought down or humbled.

We can choose to walk in humility and be humble under God’s ways or we can choose to walk in pride and our flesh. This will cause us to be brought down to a place of being humbled by God.

We cannot become hyperfocus on one thing. If we do then everything is out of balance. God wants us to be stable; we cannot be double minded. We either yield to our flesh and walk in our own ego or we humble ourselves and do the will of God.

We can not allow our calling to become more important to us than our relationship with Jesus Christ. We cannot get wrapped up in what we are doing for God that we miss God’s leading.

I feel like in the times we are living God is calling for his body to come together and walk in unity, love and just be real. There is no time to play around and allow ego to get in our way. There is no time to dabble in the world.  He is calling for us to come up higher and walk closer than ever before. If we are going to bring in the billion-soul harvest it is going to take all of us being on fire for God. Walking in his anointing and not allowing our flesh room to have an ego.

I know I have left you with some things to think about today. If you find time read the tenth Chapter of I Corinthians. Think about how badly they messed up and how we don’t want to follow in their footsteps. We want to be the church Jesus can use to save the world.

Until next time,
