WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING
THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE: TOO MANY HYPOCRITES
When you ask some people to attend church with you, they use the excuse there are too many hypocrites. They look at all the people that are not fully sold out to the cause of Christ. These people may be in the building, but are not necessarily in the body of Christ. But we cannot allow others to stand in the way of the lost. The enemy will send people to church to cause confusion and hurt feelings.
I Cor 14:3 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
If there is confusion it is because the enemy is trying to divide people. We need to point out to the lost that people are who they are and will do what they choose. Some are painfully in the way of the lost coming in, because they feel they need to judge. They have a Jezebel spirit. They want to control everything about the church. They are good at the lip service but are not in it with their heart. God doesn’t want these people as they are, because God doesn’t want fake worship. He wants true worship and not lip service. But God is patient and can sometimes turn the legalistic and religious into an actual believer.
Matt 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
That is what God says about those who only give him lip service and stand in the way of others. We need to try to get the lost past the fake people. Make them understand that even though they appear to be getting away with things, ultimately, they will meet their end. We will be rewarded for our choices good or bad.
Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
This is a point we must get across to others. That just because Bertha better than you attends service every time the doors open, doesn’t mean she is on her way to heaven. She tries to make herself feel better by judging others. Instead of her working on her own self and figure out how to be sold out to Christ, she chooses to walk in judgment of others.
We have to love everyone, even the hypocrites. Who knows if we can share enough of God’s love with them, maybe they will find a way to be sold out to Christ. Then we will have won another to Christ.
These people will either wake up and change or they will go somewhere else. When they see they are not causing the division they want to cause, they will leave or let God change them.
When we attend worship, we need to forget anyone else is around us and just praise the Lord with our whole heart. Everything else will work itself out.
