WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

The title of today’s episode is: “How great is our God?”

When thinking about how Big God is, the word measureless comes to mind. In other words it is beyond our comprehension to even begin to fathom His size. But scripture gives us a clue that fits within our comprehension.

Psalm 33:4-8 For the word of the Lord is right, And all His work is done in truth. 5 He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. 6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as an heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses.  8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

The heavens were made by the word of the Lord. He is so powerful that he spoke things into existence. I know that most people have heard this already, but how many have meditated on it? We need to get a grasp on it.

Psalm 8:3-4 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

Is 40:12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? The word meted means to distribute or measure out. He distributed heaven with the span of his hand. He weighed the mountains in scales. This should help us realize how big He is.

Is 40:15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

I liked this because it is a reminder that all of these people that feel like they are so powerful and mighty, they have money and political power are not even dust. The nations are as dust so we are even smaller than dust. But he care about us.

That would be like us going to the beach and knowing all about every grain of sand and if it were like us, every dream, hope, fear, worry and care. We would know which ones chose to be ours and those we need to deal with and try to reach. And He is even bigger than that comparison, because sand is bigger than dust, and the nations are dust. We are microscopic dust, yet he loves us and cares about us.

Ps 147:3-5   He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. 4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. 5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

He is a God of details, he named the stars. He even knows the number of hairs on your head. Now I ask? Is anything to big for our God? Does our problems seem too big? What about the issues in our country? NOTHING IS TOO GREAT FOR OUR GOD!!

God said to Jeremiah:

Jer 32:27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

I hope I have given you something to think about today. It is my prayer that we all learn to look at God in a different light. We need to realize we cannot stretch our understanding big enough to fully realize how big and amazing He is, but all he asks is for us to love Him and worship Him.  

The reason that, I encouraged you to think about how big our God is, was to remind you that this incredible, God that is bigger than we can imagine cares about you. Nothing is too small for him to care about. This great big God feeds the birds, how much more will he do for us.

When God told Abraham he would have a son, Sarah laughed and God asked, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”

That is a question we all need to get a hold on. The answer is No. There is not one thing too hard for God. Once we have that on the inside of us, our trials, troubles and the things in this world seems a little less scary. They somehow, seem smaller. And to our God they are small.

The next time you find yourself facing a seemingly impossible situation, remember to God it is not impossible. There is nothing too hard for our God.
