WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

The title of today’s episode: Ultimate Liberty

Happy Memorial Day! This holiday started after the Civil War to honor all the soldiers lost during the war. It was called Decoration Day, because people decorated the graves. Over time it has become a day that we decorate the graves of our lost family and friends to honor what they meant to our lives. We honor all those currently in the military and those who have served in previous years that were fortunate enough to come home after war.

We honor them for their sacrifices to give us a better life. We would not have freedom without them. Our country would have been overtaken by evil people if it wasn’t for our military and God’s hand on them. This day reminds us to stand for truth. To be bold in the face of fear. Which brings me to the spiritual side of things.

We honor the soldiers for their sacrifice, but what about the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. He has given us the ultimate liberty and freedom. We need to honor and praise him for his sacrifice. He died that we could have a better life and a life after death, instead of forever punishment. We need to honor him every day by our actions and our willingness to serve him.

2 Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Our freedom comes from God. We do not have real freedom until we have his spirit living inside of us. It is the Spirit of the Lord that shows we are born again. He gives us boldness to stand for truth and right. Our God is a God of justice. There is no justice without God’s amazing grace.

I not only honor the fallen soldiers of our great country, but I honor all those Christian soldiers that carried the gospel. Those who have sacrificed personal desires and comforts for a chance to set someone free who was in a trap of our enemy satan.

As Christian soldiers what are we willing to sacrifice to see someone set free from captivity of sin?

Now more than ever the body of Christ needs to be ready to gather the harvest. It is time and revival is on the way. You can feel the winds of change blowing. Soon people will be free to serve God. Jesus is going to break their shackles and set them free.

I am keeping this brief today; I want you to have time to spend with your loved ones. Take some time to thank Jesus for his ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. He is the foundation of our great country.

At times, it seems like the enemy and darkness are in control. But God will not allow us to be overtaken. Light will always drive away the darkness. We will prevail as long as we stay bold and stand for truth and let our light shine. Because with God’s amazing spirit inside of us, we have power over the powers of our enemy. We will prevail.

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

The title of today’s episode: TIME TO BREAK FREE

The world has so many people bound by fear, anxiety, depression, drugs and all sorts of sin and perversion. It is easy to get into a mess or fall into sin. As humans it is hard to stand up to the enemy. We are susceptible to the shiny, exciting way he paints sin. Without Jesus, satan is hard to resist. He understands us better than we do ourselves, then custom creates the sin that will put us into bondage.

BUT GOD…When we give our lives to Christ, he takes responsibility for us. He will give us power over the powers of the enemy. We will have the strength to resist satan and his lies. Suddenly we can have power over the sin that has so easily taken us over, before Jesus. I am not saying we cannot fall into sin. But we have a way of resisting that has the power to keep us free, as long as we look to Jesus.

It is time for us to break free from the chains that have bound us too long. The body of Christ has allowed the enemy to come in and slip chains on us. We are like Sampson; we played with Deliah until we were made weak. For far too long, the body has allowed little things to be overlooked in the name of not judging. In the name of loving others.

The bride of Christ can break free from traditions of men that are not based on the scriptures.  She is chained up by man’s philosophies of loving everyone and accepting their sin. The only thing that will overcome these things is telling them the truth in a nonjudgmental way. Some say this is speaking truth in love.

The world doesn’t hold each other to any type of standard, but they expect Christian’s to be perfect. When we fall, they judge us, but do not want to be judged. It is time we walk upright and do the best we can, but when we fall, accept God’s grace. Even when the world and our brothers and sisters in Christ are judging us.

Isaiah 9:4 For God will break the chains that bind his people and the whip that scourges them, just as he did when he destroyed the vast host of the Midianites by Gideon’s little band.

His people were in bondage in the land of Egypt. He saw their pain and how they were treated. He had compassion on them and sent a deliverer.  Jesus is our deliverer from our spiritual bondage.

What was the first thing the Egyptians wanted to do when the enemy pursued them? They fell into fear and wanted to return to bondage. Today this is called a trauma response, they are afraid of the unknown and would rather return to what they knew, than to face the unknown. Yes, they were in bondage, fear, pain and many afflictions. Facing a new land with giants, they could not see themselves overcoming them, even with God on their side.

I pray that the body of Christ will not allow the size of our giants and the fear of the unknown to cause us to want to turn around. I pray we can get our mindset straight and focus on the one who set us free.

It is time we open our minds and hearts to God’s will in the earth for our time. It is time we set aside man’s ideas and doctrines and ask God for his direction. It is time that we break free from the traditions of men.

Sincere prayer time, not just petitioning God, but waiting quietly for his response, will give us the answers we need to not be afraid of our enemy. We must break free from the response, “It has always been done this way. This is what we were taught.” How can we prove to people who do not know God what HIS truth is, if we do not know ourselves. Just because it has always been taught a certain way, is not a good answer for someone trying to find God.

I want to encourage you to search your heart, search your soul. Ask God to show you the direction he has for your life. Ask Him to break your chains and set you free from anything that is not of Him. Now is the time to be free.

EPISODE 24 CONDEMNATION VS CONVICTION

EPISODE 24 CONDEMNATION VS CONVICTION

CHECK OUT THE VIDEO VERSION: https://youtu.be/FDKzCXD9JQU

Hello my friends

The title of today’s episode is: “Condemnation verses Conviction.”

After a recent discussion with one of my friends who was under attack from some legalistic people, it dawned on me that there is a difference in conviction and condemnation.  One is good and one is a lie from satan.

Conviction is something we feel when the Holy Ghost is telling us we did something wrong. Conviction comes with the possibility of redemption. When we have fallen into temptation and committed a sin, as children of God, we are convicted by God’s spirit within us. This gives us the opportunity to ask for forgiveness and get that sin under the blood covering of Jesus.

When we come to Jesus as sinners and ask for his blood covering, we are asking that all the things we are guilty for be washed away. We are no longer deserving of punishment for those things. God has erased them with the work on the cross, through and by the blood of Jesus.

The word condemn; where we get the word condemnation from has two meanings.  One, when someone expresses disapproval, normally in a group setting, they will attack or degrade someone they don’t agree. Shunning is a good example of this practice.

When I was about twenty-three, I briefly attended a church that was bound by religious legalism. The pressure to measure up was overwhelming. The pastor’s wife always made you feel like you were guilty of something and not good enough to be called a Christian.  There was a woman that attended church with us, this woman was about my age.  She tried to commit suicide. Instead of them rallying around her when she got out of the hospital and pouring love and concern on her, all of them acted like she didn’t exist. There were only three or four of us that would talk to her.

That was when I decided that I was ready to look for another church. After discussing it with my husband we left there. I would like to say I didn’t look back, but it bothered me for a long time, how people can be so bound up. Jesus did not die to set us free, only to bind us up with legalism.

This brings me to the second definition of condemnation. Assign guilt, blame, or implicate in a crime. If someone commits a crime that is punishable by death and is caught, the judge can order that the death penalty be carried out. Everyone of us have sinned against God’s laws.  Every one of us deserved the punishment of spiritual death and punishment of hell for eternity.

However, God made a way that we could wipe our records clean and get another chance to be free.  It is through the blood of Jesus.

Romans 8 1-2  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

If we have asked for forgiveness, we are no longer condemned or deserve punishment for those sins.  Jesus’ blood gives us a pardon. But notice this verse says we are not condemned if we walk not after the flesh (or the will of our flesh) but after the Spirit (or after God’s will for our lives). Once forgiven we have to live the best life we can. We have to try to walk in God’s way. But if we fail, we can ask forgiveness and he will forgive us.  This means we have no condemnation; we are not guilty.

When we feel bad for something, we need to ask, do I feel bad because the Holy Ghost is showing me I’ve done something wrong. This is conviction.  The Spirit within us will make us feel bad for something we have done. He does this so that we can do all we can to make it right and ask for forgiveness. Conviction is about a course correction.

If you feel bad because others are trying to impose their standards on you, this is condemnation. This comes from the enemy in the form of an accusing spirit. Satan will use people who have a religious judgmental spirit to accuse you of doing things that are wrong, even if it is not a big deal.

One example of this would be in Matthew Chapter 12, I won’t read it for time sake, but go read it. When Jesus healed the man on the sabbath, the religious people said it was unlawful to heal on the sabbath.  It was wrong according to the laws they created, but it was not a sin. We know Jesus had no sin. But he was judged by the condemning self-righteous to be a horrible sinner because he healed the man on the sabbath.

Life is hard enough without creating things to make it more difficult.  There is freedom in the blood and the name of Jesus. When someone is new to their walk in Christ, the last thing they need is people adding to their already hard battle. They are learning how to walk in faith and in the Spirit of God. The flesh versus spirit battle is hard enough without adding more condemnation.

Think about the freedom we have as children of God.  The next time you feel bad about something, ask if it is conviction or condemnation from people.
