WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  A FEW GOOD MEN

During WW1 and WW2 the US Military came up with a slogan, “Looking for a few good men.” This was on recruitment posters, to encourage enlistment in the military. This is not the first time that someone in charge of a military was looking for a few good men.

Gideon had a massive army at his command, but God said, there are too many and he started narrowing it down. First he let all of them who didn’t want to go to battle leave. Then they went through a series of tests. Until God narrowed it down to three hundred men. God was looking for a few good men.

God took those three hundred men and defeated a massive army. All Gideon’s people had to do was let their light shine at the right time. Then the enemy ran for fear of being killed. Then all Gideon and his army had to do was go down and collect the spoils.

God once again in narrowing his army down to those who are serious. Only those who are fully committed to a life of following Christ. It is going to take us walking in God’s anointing and letting our light shine at the right moment to win the war.

The enemy is coming on strong. He is not going to flee from everyone who says they are a Christian. The enemy knows who is armored up against him. He knows who can walk in the anointing and authority God has given to them.

The word says if we resist the devil he will flee. Some do not know how to resist. It is up to us to help them find that place in Christ that they can learn to walk in their God given authority and anointing.

There is a big harvest field, not all is ready for what is coming. We must pray for the harvest that it be gathered. God is looking for a few good men and women to truly, fully follow him.

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  Assurance

As children of God, we have many assurances in his word. We have every reason to be encouraged that he will work things our for our good. The skies may be grey and storms may be on the horizon, but he will not allow us to be overtaken by them. He has promised to uphold us with his hand.

Psalm 37:23-24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

We can fall and he will pick us up. He will not leave us. He will not abandon his people.

Psalm 138:8 The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

We strive to be in a place that we learn to lean on Jesus. We cannot fall into a place that the voice of the enemy is louder than God’s voice.

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

How do the sheep know the voice of the shepherd? Because they spend countless hours with the sheep. They nurture and take care of them. The sheep know where their source of life comes from, their shepherd feeds them, leads them to water, looks for them when lost and protects them from predators.

We too can rely on our shepherd to protect us from the enemy that wants to destroy us. He would like nothing more than to devour our souls. But Jesus our shepherd is there to watch over us and make sure that we are not overtaken by the enemy. He gives us strength and leads us to a place of peace.

When you think about how blessed we are that God sends his angels to watch over us and keep us safe. There is nothing the enemy can do to overtake us as long as we do not give up or give in to him. He cannot overpower us, but he can make us want to give up. At the moments we feel weakest we have to allow our powerful God to stand and fight for us.  He will not allow us to be overtaken as long as we lean on him and do not surrender our will to the enemy.

If we allow negative words to come out of our mouths, words of defeat and surrender, God cannot fight for us if we have surrendered.  So let this be a reminder that we have to fight the good fight of faith. Watch our mouths and not allow the enemy to get us to surrender. God will go before us and fight as long as we look to him.

He is our hope, our strength, our assurance of victory, our peace, our healer, our provider. He is all we need. We must follow his voice and allow him to be our shepherd. He will always lead us to the right place.

I just wanted to remind

that we have hope in the middle of the darkness of this world. Our hope is in Jesus.  He will lift us up when we fall. He will see us safely home. We have assurance that we will never walk alone.

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  PREPARING OUR HEARTS

You can tell the importance of a day by the effort it takes to prepare for it. Look at a birthday for example: If it is just another birthday then maybe a week before people will make plans to go to dinner. But if it is a milestone birthday, sixteen, twenty-one, one hundred, there may be a big party that takes months to plan. Weddings are the same way.

There is coming a grand and glorious day, when we are called home to the wedding of the ages. The amount of time that this celebration has been being prepared for is over two thousand years. It is one invitation that should not be refused. Jesus has openly invited who so ever will…

If we have accepted his invitation to be a part of his bride then we need to be in preparation for the big day. We need to check ourselves daily and ask God to reveal anything in us that we need to change. As the bride of Christ, we are expected to be ready and not found lacking. No one wants to come up short.

Prov 16:1-3 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord. 2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits. 3 Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.

The world may judge us by the kind of car we drive, the label on our jeans and if our address is on the right side of town. They judge us by our family name, and our career choices. But God judges us by our hearts. He looks to see if we have prepared our hearts and made room for him to come in and dwell. He looks to see if we daily try to walk in his ways, do we study with hunger his word? He desires to know us, to spend quiet time with us.

James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.

God is calling us to that place of quiet intimacy with him.  When the world is in chaos around us, we can have peace within by knowing God. Truly knowing him, not head knowledge of him, but heart knowledge…relationship.

Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.

Today is the day to be preparing for revival and renewal of our relationship with God. He is getting ready to sweep our land with his presence. We just have to hold on through the shaking and hold on tight to him. Allow all the time you have spent in preparing to see him be your foundation. That foundation of relationship will not be shaken if the relationship is strong.

Psalm 73:28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God.

Reinforcing strength into our bond, being prepared, and drawing closer to God, is our preparation. He will not disappoint us.

Psalm 24:4-5 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

In a world full of ways to not have clean hands and a pure heart, today we need to fight harder than ever to be such a person of integrity. This is what it means to prepare our hearts.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING- EP457 STRIKE A FIRE

CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEO VERSION: https://rumble.com/v72r1yz-god-focus-this-morning-ep457-strike-a-fire.html

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  STRIKE A FIRE

There are many ways to start a fire, matches, lighters, striking flint, carrying it on a torch to use to light something else on fire. There is also the boy scout way of rubbing sticks together which requires much skill and practice. Some even have waited for a lightening strike to harness the fire. However mankind got fire, it has been used to keep harmful animals away. It has been used to cook food so that germs can be killed and rendered harmless. It is used to keep the body from freezing to death. Fire can be passed on to others in various forms so that they too can cook, be safe and warm.

My late husband and I used to write a Christian newsletter one of the first small articles he wrote was called strike anywhere match.  I am going to share it with you today. This was first shared in 2004, but is true now more than even.

“Almost everyone is familiar with the blue tip match. It is also known as the strike anywhere match.  The job of this match is to be prepared, at any given point and time to start a fire.  No preparation is needed because it is ready.  The match has everything it needs to produce a flame and light.

Like the blue tip match, we need to be a strike anywhere Christian.  Ready at any time to start a fire, by spreading God’s word.  We need to warm the hearts of others with a song, a testimony or encouraging word.

Like the match, we never know when we will be called upon to start a fire.  It is important to be prepared by being prayed up and have the scriptures in our hearts.”

This is how he lived his life and so many other precious people that I know. God wants us to be ready to just love people. Sharing his love and compassion are why we are here on this earth.

With the Spirit of God in us we will have his holy fire to share. When you come upon someone who is being attacked by the enemy, who needs spiritual food, who is freezing from the coldness, the cruelty of this world we can share God’s fire. It will cause the enemy to flee.

Satan cannot stand the presence of God’s Spirit. If we stand against him he will flee.  He doesn’t want us to share the gospel because it is food for the soul. He definitely doesn’t want people to find the warmth of God’s fire, because they will develop hope. Satan’s job is to keep us feeling hopeless. He wants us to feel like there is not reason to stand and fight.

God’s fire can also cause something inside of us to rise up and be courageous. When the world wants to push us down and make us feel as small and insignificant as possible. God can lift us up and say, you are a warrior, you are strong because of me. You can walk through anything as long as I am with you.

In other words if the fire of God is in us, it will burn out all the cowardice within us. We will be bold enough to stand and say like the three Hebrew men, “Our God is able to save us from the fiery furnace, but if he doesn’t, we will not bow.”  Or Bold enough to stand before a giant and say, “I come to you in the name of the Lord.”

Having that fire inside will give us strength to withstand temptation. It will give us boldness to look the enemy in the eye and tell him you are not bowing to him. When we resist his attempts to be tempting or cause fear, he will have to flee, because he cannot stand the fire of God that is inside of those who believe.

What about you today, are you full of fire? Are you brave enough to withstand the  enemy? Are you like a strike anywhere match, looking for an opportunity to start a fire? Many lives are in need of God’s holy fire. They are waiting for the fire of revival to sweep through and cover them with God’ s anointing and power. All it takes is for us to spread the fire that we have within us. God will blow on the flame and cause a roaring blaze of revival. So be ready to strike that match to save someone who needs God’s holy fire.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP456 FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATER

CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEO VERSION: https://rumble.com/v72mq5w-god-focus-this-morning-ep456-fountain-of-living-water.html

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATER

Water is necessary for our very existence. Our bodies are made up of seventy percent water. We need water, yet we take it for granted. Most of us go and turn a faucet knob and we have water running effortlessly into our sinks. While others suffer from little water or drought.

In Africa many of the people walk for miles to get and carry water to their homes. It is one of their daily chores, because they need water daily. They understand how precious water is to human beings.

Spiritually speaking we need God’s living water daily. It is all that will truly satisfy our weary souls.

Jer 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

In order for the body of Christ to function properly, we cannot neglect God’s living water. Many churches have allowed the world to creep in and have become broken cisterns that cannot hold water. Too much of the world has crept in and allowed the living water to leak out.

God told Jeremiah that his people had committed two evils. The first evil was that they had forsaken God. Lots of churches have a form of godliness, they say they believe God. Yet their actions are not like followers of Christ.

John 4:14-But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

They chose to do things their way and they don’t talk about the cross or salvation. They teach on living your best life now and how to prosper.  Everyone wants to be highly favored, no one wants to pay the price for that favor. God is calling his people to higher ground. He is calling us into deeper water. We want to stay in the shallow water.

Shallow water is vanity. It is a place of man’s favor. A place of comfort and complacency. In order to be in a place of free-flowing water, we have to seek God’s face. We have to be in his presence. That is the place we find living water.

We cannot forsake God ( the fountain of living water) neither can we look for other things to fill the void. If we try to fill our lives with other things, we become broken cisterns that cannot hold living water. Things of this life are temporary; they cannot satisfy long term. Once the temporary attraction wears off, the enemy has something else waiting to keep our focus off of God. Make no mistake the enemy is good at counterfeit. He can paint a pretty picture. But if the picture he paints doesn’t draw you closer to God, then it is not the right picture.

If you are truly thirsty only iced cold water will do. We may try to drink soda or tea, but nothing will quench the thirst like water.  There is nothing the enemy can offer to quench the thirst of our soul. Only Christ’s living water is able to quench that deep down thirst of the soul.

Jesus told the woman at the well he could give her living water and she would never thirst again. I have often though about the never thirst again part. How does one get to the place of never thirsting again?

EPH 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

If we can stay in a constant state of being full there will be no room to thirst. As we pour out what God has poured into us to others. We have to be refilled by being in God’s presence. This is what it means to never thirst again, getting to the place of being full.

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  THE DEAL

Most everyone has seen the game show Let’s Make A Deal. The contestants have different curtains to choose from. Each one contains a prize or a Zonk. If you get the Zonk it means you don’t get the big prize. People often have a good prize in their hands and choose to risk it all for a bigger prize. The only thing is that prize is not guaranteed.

Still time and again they allow greed to override their good judgment and end up with nothing. This is us standing in front of things the enemy offers, we really don’t know what we are getting until the curtain opens and it’s too late.

We have the ultimate prize of God’s freedom, peace and fellowship, yet we risk it for a lesser prize of sin or temptation that turns out to be a zonk. There is nothing in this life satan can offer that would come close to comparing to what God has done for us. It doesn’t matter what we are facing in life, we need to keep pressing on to the prize that Jesus gives. We do not have time to be distracted by the enemy’s lies and deception.

If he can not draw us into sin then he will try to slow us down in other ways.  He doesn’t want us to run the race that God has set before us. Satan doesn’t want us to get to the finish line strong. He wants to discourage us and get us to give up.

Isaiah 50:7 For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

The phrase set my face like a flint, means I will have unwavering, unyielding determination to keep fighting the good fight of faith. Even if we have to do it from a place of what seems like weakness.  When we are weak God is strong, he alone will not allow us to be overtaken by our enemy. We just have to fight our flesh to not give up. God will send angels to fight for us.

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

To be in God’s presence for all eternity is a prize worth fighting for, so don’t settle for a consolation prize from the enemy.

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  FEAR GOOD OR BAD

To have fear of God is a good thing. But this type of fear is a reverence.  It means you respect who God is and you respect his power and restraint. Some would like to instill an unhealthy fear of God. Like you have to walk so perfectly that if you get out of line even in the slightest, he is waiting to send down a lightening bolt and zap you. They forget about grace.

That is not my God. My God is loving and kind, he is patient and long suffering.  He knows us in ways we don’t even know ourselves. He knew we could never be perfect within ourselves. That is why Jesus came to give us the perfect plan to redeem us from our nature.

However, there are people that preach grace like it is a license to sin and live any way you choose because God’s grace is sufficient.  This is not true either.

Romans 6:1-2  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

We are made new creations. We no long live in sin. If your church is telling you that his grace is so big that you can do whatever you wish and you will be saved. Think again my friend.

We have to live as close to God as we possibly can, and if you slip up God will forgive us. But that is not a reason to walk in sin daily and be disillusioned that you will be saved.

This is what it means to fear the Lord. But there is another type of fear that has gripped the hearts of people today; unhealthy fear. This is when the lies of the enemy come whispering to you in the night that all sorts of horrible things could happen and probably will happen.

When we start to forget to fear God, the enemy will replace that reverence with his counterfeit fear. His fear causes painful anxiety, paralyzing procrastination because of the fear of doing the wrong thing, then he brings depression and anxiety to round out his trap.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

God is love…he teaches us how to love. There is no fear in God because his mere presence will destroy unhealthy fear, anxiety and depression.  Unhealthy fear bring with it torment. Fear of the Lord in the right balance will bring joy, peace and strength.

This is why I encourage you to be brave, because it takes bravery to stand for the truth. It takes bravery to draw closer to God. Because as soon as you try, the enemy will try to stop you. But he will lose, because the closer you get to God, the more strength He will pour into you. We have no reason to fear our enemy.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP543–TRUTH IS STRONGER THAN LIES

CLICK ABOVE FOR VIDEO VERSION

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  TRUTH IS STRONGER THAN LIES

The truth is always stronger than a lie. In the face of truth, a lie will always fail and fall short. But still our enemy tries to create doubt and make us want to turn to a lie.

Prov 12:22  Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.

The word specifically says that lying lips are an abomination.  What does that mean exactly? Abomination means disgrace, something that causes disgust or hatred. God hates lies.

Prov 12:17-18 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. 18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

Because our heavenly father is the God of Truth. When we speak truth, it honors our God. Lies can be harmful like being pierced with a sword. The words of the righteous are health and life.

As his children, everything we say needs to bring honor to God. We must walk with integrity and in the power of his love and truth. Our words have power. Many times, I have told you that our words are life.

Exposure of lies and half-truths always happens when the truth comes to light. God’s truth will always set us free from any bondage created by a lie.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Lies tie people up, haven’t you ever heard of a web of lies. Some people get so wrapped up in lies they can not remember them all. Deception has its own stress. But when you speak truth, you don’t have to keep up with the lies. Remember truth is stronger than lies.

Psalm 34:13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

This is what we must do as children of God. Not only are we to not speak lies but it also says not to speak guile, which means to be sly or cunning. Speak in order to manipulate someone.

The enemy is the master of manipulation. He can take the truth and twist it just enough that it sounds like the truth. This is why we have to ask God for his discernment. His spirit will lead us the way we must go. As long as we follow his lead we will know the truth and it will shatter all of satan’s lies.

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  COMPLETE IN CHRIST

Everything we will ever need is in Christ Jesus. He has saved us in every way from sickness, sin and death.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

When we give our lives to Christ for the first time we become a new creature. Our old life and way of doing things have passed away, and who we are becomes new. We have a new path laid out before us. One of truth and honor. But the enemy will try to get us to fall into a place that we lack integrity. He will do everything he can to draw us back into the sinful life we had before Christ.

Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

The enemy will try to get us to doubt ourselves, doubt our salvation, doubt every choice we make in life. But the answers we need are all in him. Complete means entire and full. The fullness of the godhead is in him. The fullness of everything we need is in him.

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

The life we live now is by our faith in Christ because he gave his life for us. The work of the cross completed the plan for everything we would ever need. We have no reason to allow fear to overtake us. Fear comes from our enemy. If we are complete in Christ there is no room for fear or anxiety. Every time the enemy comes with his fear, send him away with a reminder that you have no reason to fear, because you are complete in Christ.

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  GUARD THE GATE

Why do we want what we know we can’t have? This is the age-old question. For example, when you decide you’re going to try to cut back to lose weight, suddenly you want to eat everything in sight. It’s like you are afraid you are going to starve to death.

Some of the motivation is fear, some of it is not wanting to be without what we need. But when the temptation is to sin, it is an attack of the enemy. He paints a pretty picture of how things would be better if you do what you know you shouldn’t.

Look how he approached Eve with questions that made her wonder if God really said they couldn’t eat of the tree. He made her question God’s motivation.  Until she got it in her heart that they should have the knowledge of good and evil. He painted a picture for her that God was trying to hold her back and keep her from knowing the truth.

God always makes a way for us to escape the temptations of the enemy. They are lies, Satan tries to manipulate, he is a master at making us think we can’t live without that cake, that drink or whatever he is tempting us with. We have to be stronger than the lies.

Changing our focus from where we are to where we want to be remembering  that truth is stronger than lies. The light of truth shines on the lies of the enemy and evil is exposed. Often it is said that the mind is where the battle is fought. What gets past the mind enters our hearts. The mind is the gateway to control over our entire being. Think about it this way, whoever controls the gate to a city, controls the city.

As children of God, we must make sure that the holy ghost is the one guarding the gate to our minds. If we keep our god focus and allow the holy ghost to lead, we will not be destroyed by the enemy, because he will not get past the gate.

Spiritual fortification comes through our faith. We put on our armor according to Ephesians chapter six and resist the enemy. As long as God is our focus, we will be strong. Using the word as our weapon.

Prov 25:28  He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

Think about a city without walls, it can be easily over ran by the enemy. This is why it is necessary to fortify our walls against the attacks of the enemy. Stand strong in defense of the gate of your being. We will prevail over all the lies of the enemy, as long as we put our trust in God.
