WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING
THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE: TODAY
I want to talk to you about today. In front of us is a chance to change our lives. We can’t change yesterday, it is gone. We can’t do much about tomorrow until it gets here. Today is where we have the most influence. Choices we make today will have a great effect on our future. It is so important to make wise choices every day.
The wisest move we can make is follow Jesus as closely as we can. When trouble comes life can get complicated. There are times we feel we cannot go on, the enemy will try to make us feel like we will never endure this race. Satan is a liar. This is when we have to break things down in smaller periods of time. We can be bold, brave or have faith for an hour. Then adjust and say I can make it one more hour. As time goes, circumstances will change, God will see you through it.
Today is the day to start digging deeper roots to protect us in the storms of life. Trees with the deepest roots are the ones that withstand the storms. Fully committing to try to do more study of the word and praying more, will help us grow those deep roots. It is about
Prov 30:24-28 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: 25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; 26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; 27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; 28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.
We can learn a lot from these four creatures. The ants are planners and prepare ahead. Like children of God prepare ahead when we surrender our lives to Jesus. The lesson to take away from the conies is to make our home in the rock, who is Christ Jesus. Now more than ever the body of Christ needs unity. The locust could teach us how to band together and go forth in the unity of God’s power and love. The spider can teach us determination. If you have ever walked through a spider web as you leave your house each morning, you know what I mean. You can tear it down, and the next day it has been rebuilt. It doesn’t matter how many times the enemy tries to tear us down, we need to be determined to build our lives back better than before.
I said earlier that we cannot do much about tomorrow until it gets here, but still, we have to be planners for the future. We cannot put off until tomorrow what we need to do to walk closer to God. Today we lay the foundation that we build on tomorrow.
John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
There will not always be the opportunity to win the lost or do anything else for the cause of Christ. Take every opportunity to encourage others to draw closer to God.
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Today is not the day to be double minded. We need a singular focus, our God focus. Today is a day that God created for each of us to make wise choices. We never know what tomorrow will bring, but we can be sure God will see us through all of our tomorrows to come. If we surrender, He will change us from glory to glory, but He never changes.
Heb 13: 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
