We are each responsible for our own faith walk. The choices we make will shape how we walk out our faith. Paul wrote to the Philippians that they should continue to live out their faith reminding them of the seriousness of their faith walk. No one can do it for you. No one can trust God for your salvation but you. It is possible for us to pray for someone and God draw them to him, but ultimately they are responsible to yield their lives to him.
Phil 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
He didn’t tell them to work out their salvation meaning it’s ok to take bits and pieces of religions and make them what you want to do. It didn’t mean that we have to work for our salvation. He was saying that we walk out our faith doing our best to be consistent in our faith.
Salvation is not a one time prayer and you can live your life as you choose. It is an ongoing daily walking out of our faith. We are responsible for our prayer life, we are responsible to search the word for ourselves. We cannot rely on a large portion of preachers, this is why we need to know for ourselves what the word says. That is part of working out our salvation, we need to work things out in our minds according to the word. Taking what is preached and compare it to the word.
I will once again remind you how important it is to pray and study, especially now as the world spins out of control. Daily asking God for guidance and to keep our feet on the right path is critical in the times in which we are living.
So get in the word, pray and work it out so you can walk it out. God loves each of us so very much, he will not let us down.
THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE: OUR HOPE IS IN JESUS
We as children of God have hope in him. We find we have a feeling of excited expectation when we think about our future home in heaven. We should have hope in what God is going to do for us.
People all down through life have debated and struggled with the thought of resurrection. Many debated if life ended with our physical death. Many at that time doubted the resurrection of Jesus. Many still do today.
Paul wrote in I Cor 15:19 — If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
This verse is to reassure believers that Jesus didn’t die just to improve our lives here, he wanted to give us hope of the eternal. He didn’t die to give us our best life now. He died to set us free in this life, but he also died to restore our relationship so that we can be with him for all of eternity.
Jer. 29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Expected end is that we will be with Jesus for all of eternity. He wants us to search for him with all our hearts. He wants to know he has first place in our lives. The word hope means to have a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. Everything we could ever hope for can be found in Jesus.
He wants us to search for him with all of our heart. He has promised if we search with all of our heart that he will allow us to find him. Deep desire for his presence will bring his presence.
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Our focus needs to be on the hope that we have that God will never leave us alone. He is our hope, our peace and our joy. As the world grows darker, we need to hold on to our hope that Jesus holds us in his hand.
The enemy will come along and test us. He will try to get us down. We have to fight back with praise and worship of our one and only true God. We will find a new infusion of joy which the enemy hates. Why does he hate for us to have joy? Because we gain strength to overcome, with the joy of the Lord.
Be encouraged today, do not allow the enemy to overwhelm you. Our hope and all our strength is in Jesus.
THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE: THE VERSE THAT DESTROYS DEMONIC STRONGHOLDS
It is impossible to live our lives free from the spirit realm. We are constantly being influenced by it. Some say demons don’t exist, just because you don’t believe they are real doesn’t mean it’s true. There is a phrase satan coined and people have bought. “If its true for you, then it’s your truth.” That is a lie from the pit of hell. Truth is truth and false is false. It doesn’t change because of my opinion or your opinion.
If they believe God doesn’t exist then that is their truth. But all the lies they tell themselves about his existence doesn’t change the fact that he exists. God is real, demons are real. We must learn how to live in this world knowing the truth.
We do not have to fear evil things. If you are a blood bought, spirit filled child of God you have what you need to combat the enemy. This is why we plead the blood of Jesus. We ask him to make sure there is nothing in our lives that is not under that blood covering. Our faith is only made stronger by standing for the right and against the darkness.
We cannot allow the enemy put darkness in our path. Jesus will help us to walk as children of light. Evil is trying hard right now to prevail. As God’s children it is our responsibility to pray against the evil of the enemy.
I used to think that Baal worship was something from centuries past. I was naive to not understand that all these false gods in the bible were actually demonic strongholds. When I was young I thought it was crazy for the children of Israel to want a golden calf and call it god. But the worst part was that the evil spirit behind it, Baal had them confused into believing that they could make a statue and worship it.
There are religious spirits today responsible for dividing God’s people and drawing people away into denominations. On the day of Pentecost, they were in one mind and one accord. The body of Christ is going to have to return to the one mind and one accord if we are ever to gather the billion-soul harvest that is out there waiting for us to show them the way.
The only way we will ever be able to break the strongholds of the enemy is through prayer and fasting. Notice Matthew chapter 17. A man came to Jesus whose son was possessed with demons. He tried to get the disciples to cure his son. But they could not.
Matt 17:18-21 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
This verse is so powerful that it is left out of a lot of the translations of the bible. The people in charge of things do not want us to know that prayer and fasting is powerful enough to get rid of demons. The bigger the spiritual battle, the deeper our prayer life has to be to combat the demonic realm.
I cannot stress how important it is to pray in the time we live. The body of Christ is under demonic attack stronger than we have in our lifetime. In order to stand, we are going to have to kneel like never before. We will only get through what is facing us if we pray.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The only way we are going to be able to stand is if we pray. Because, tearing down stronghold takes much prayer and spiritual warfare. We are fighting against evil that started before our country’s civil war. God’s people will prevail. He has never deserted his people, he will not start with us.
Take some time to reach out and ask him to destroy the strongholds of the enemy. Pray for the protection of those who are on the side of good. We will prevail, because God will prevail.
It is our responsibility to share with future generations the experiences we have had walking with the Lord. Now is not the time to tell them that everything will we wonderful and they will never have a battle. But we need to remind them that God will go before us and fight for us. We never fight the enemy alone. Jesus’ blood is our cloak of protection from the enemy.
I have been encouraged and strengthened by my elders. This is why testimonies are so important. They give the hearer something to hold onto when things get tough. The Jewish people were faithful to pass down their stories from generation to generation. We too need to share our faith and testimony with future generation.
Psalm 44:1-3 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. 2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. 3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
In a court of law, testimonies are firsthand accounts of certain events. People share the information that they have about an event that has taken place. They determine how the court will rule in the case.
From a Christian point of view, testimonies are first hand accounts of what God has done. Testimonies prove God’s faithfulness, his character and abilities to turn around impossible situations. It is about declaring what God has done. Those who hear and accept our words as truth will be encouraged and strengthened by our experiences.
We gain the ability to overcome when we share our testimony. Speaking out loud and sharing what the Lord has done for us. Renews our strength and encourages us to keep going. If God brought us through one difficult season, he will bring us through the next one. Our faith determines how the courts of heaven will rule. What will the answer be to what we have prayed?
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
If you think about it a large portion of the Bible is a first-hand account of events and times that God moved for his people. Testimonies are about giving glory to God for the wonderful things he has done. Sharing how he moved at just the right time.
I feel it is important to write things down in a journal. I have been encouraged by things written in my journals, when I go back and look at them years later. I write about how God has answered my prayers. When I get discouraged, I look at my journals and I am always encouraged. I think back about how discouraged I was before each breakthrough. It gives me courage to keep having faith.
By sharing our testimonies, we can share the good news of the gospel. Letting our light shine into the darkness is what life is all about.
Wow! I cannot believe it is episode 500 already. There were times I didn’t think I would get this far, I see no chance of slowing down. I don’t know how many episodes are ahead. Only God knows. I know I want to keep doing them until God is finished. I want to thank all of you that have encouraged me to keep going. Those who commented and emailed me that they are a help and encouragement.
Since I was celebrating 500 episodes, I thought it would be a good time to share with you what God has been pouring into me the last week or two. I don’t know how many times over the past 499 episodes I have talked to you about the power of our words.
People will go to war and pray for a healing. They have faith that they used to plant the seeds for their miracles. They get up and believe that God is going to heal them. Then someone asks how they are doing and they start their pity party. They want someone’s sympathy more than their healing. They start speaking how bad things are, how much pain, how they don’t think it will get better. With their words they kill the faith seeds they planted in prayer. By saying things like, this has been going on for weeks and it’s not getting any better.
This is a vicious cycle that can go on for years. We are to walk by faith and not by sight. Yes, there is real pain or sickness, yes it may appear bad. No one is denying the symptoms. But this behavior makes us double minded. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
In order to have faith, we must believe without the “pity party” and without the negative words. It is time to break free from the pity party and speak life. God doesn’t like the pity party he wants us to have a Holy Ghost Party. One where our faith draws his Spirit.
The power of God’s anointing can break the yokes of the enemy. It is God’s will that we walk in health and strength. We need to do all we can to walk in the spirit. Strengthening our spirit man is what our journey is all about. We do this through prayer and study of God’s word.
We often face difficult things, so does people in the world. The difference between us and the world is that we have help from God to deal with our difficulties.
Paul and Silas were beaten and thrown into prison. They could have had a pity party. “Oh my back hurts from the beating. I hate being shackled in here. Why did this have to happen to us we were just trying to help people?” But instead, they prayed and sang praises unto God. And they were the first to rock a jailhouse with a Holy Ghost Party. Given the choice I would rather be in the middle of the presence of God, than in the middle of a pity party.
That is how people fall into depression and anxiety, by looking inward and focusing on the things that are not perfect. But we cannot allow the enemy to come along with his negativity and put a damper on our party. Any time he comes with the negativity, you know you are close to your breakthrough if you don’t allow him to wear or tear you down.
I want to leave you with this question? What kind of party are you going to have, a pity party? “Oh poor me, no one knows what I go through.” Or a Holy Ghost party that shines light into the darkness and can change the lives of those around us. I’ve done the pity party and it’s no fun, I am going to opt for the one that I am in God’s presence, and pray that I can be strong enough to never fall into the pity party of the enemy.
Have you ever heard the phrase, it is what is on the inside that counts? This is true in the life of every believer. Inner holiness and having a pure heart are more important than appearing holy on the outside.
People sometimes get caught up in an idea of looking a certain way. Wearing certain things makes you more holy. They go to extremes with discussing dressing modestly. Then judge others who do not adapt and look exactly like they do. God doesn’t expect us to look like cookie cutter people. He made us individuals, and the Holy Ghost inside of you will lead you and guide you how to act, walk and dress.
I Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
Out of all of Jesse’s sons, David would have been the last one that Samuel would have chosen to anoint king. Samuel looked at his brothers judging them to look more like a king. But God knew the heart of each of them. He knew that David had a servant’s heart that loved the Lord. His heart was pure.
We cannot judge people by how they look or dress. God sees us as we will be in the future and knows our hearts. Our faith walk is all about having a pure heart inside of us.
Luke 6:43-45 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
What is in our heart is going to overflow out of us through our actions and words. Judgmental attitudes do not come from a place of purity. It often comes from a place of jealousy and self-righteousness.
We want to be found with a pure heart before God. Doing all we can to allow God’s love to flow out of us.
Earthquake resistant buildings are designed to withstand the shaking of the ground. There are measures that help the buildings to stand strong. These measures include combining a flexible structure with a deep reinforced foundation.
Engineers design buildings with springs or rollers under the structure so that the movement of the ground will allow the building to move slightly to absorb some of the shockwaves that can destroy buildings. One reinforcement is called a continuous load path. This means the building is securely tied together from the foundation to the roof.
Luke 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
We are to build on a solid foundation. All the measures to prevent disaster will not help if the foundation is not solid. Then we must build a flexible house that allows for the human factor, without being too rigid and judgmental. But we cannot be weak in building of our house, lacking faith and accepting anything that the enemy wants to pedal as Christianity. As children of God, it is our responsibility to make sure we are true to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Far too many people trust someone else with their soul. They do not want to put in the work to make sure their house is solid. It is easier to let the preacher search the word and tell me what to do and believe. Just like the children of Israel. They didn’t want to hear from God themselves, they told Moses to go and get God’s commandments and they would follow his instructions.
Deut 5: 24-27 And ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth. 25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, then we shall die. 26 For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived? 27 Go thou near, and hear all that the Lord our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the Lord our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.
They are like some people today. They want rituals but do not want the fire of God. Our God is a consuming fire. His fire will help us to shine a light into the darkness, but it will not destroy us. Just like the burning bush. The fire was there, but it did not burn up the bush.
So many want to stay in the infant stage. They do not want to mature in wisdom and knowledge of God. They want someone else to do all the work, pray all the prayers, dig deep in the word. But if you do not know the truth of God’s word for yourself, how can you know that they are not false. If you are not led by the Spirit of God which is the Holy Ghost, often represented by fire, how will you know if the pastor is going the right direction. So many are out to deceive today, they are motivated by money and politics. We have to be wise and discerning if they are real or false. They may be honest with their intentions, but just have allowed the enemy to twist the scripture, deceiving them. It is time for those who say they are Christians to grow up. The word doesn’t say to find a preacher and follow them blindly, hoping that you chose the right one.
2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Paul told Timothy to study for himself so that God will approve that he knows and understands the truth. This verse is not just for Timothy, but for each believer. It didn’t say if you are a minister to study to show yourself approved. We need the word in our hearts, no one can put it there, we have to study and pray for wisdom.
The structure supports are in place for our spiritual house to be strong. God has given the church the five-fold ministry to perfect the body of Christ. This will keep the foundation solid and true. All parts will be firmly put together, so that we can withstand a shaking. We must hold on to our faith. This world is getting ready to shake. The enemy is going to try to destroy as many of us as he can. But we have to keep our God focus, make sure our foundation is strong and never blindly follow anyone. Jesus is the only one we should follow without question.
When the storms come, if we have prepared ahead, we will be standing when the wind stops blowing and the rain ceases. But if we have not dug down deep to a solid place and prepared our hearts, we may be blown away in the storm like a tumbleweed. If we do some preparation on our own and communicate with God for ourselves. We will know his voice. His Spirit will lead us and show us how solid the foundation is beneath our feet.
Eph 4:14-15 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
I am not trying to be harsh when I say it is time to grow up. It is time to take responsibility for your faith walk. The word of God is all about being prepared and trusting God. How can we trust him, if we don’t know what the word says about being prepared and having our lamps trimmed and oil in our vessels. No one wants to be like the five foolish virgins in Christ’s parable.
Stand strong, make sure your foundation is solid. This world is about to shake we have to be anchored to the rock, who is Christ Jesus. This is what it means to have solid preparation.
THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE: HOW TO INCREASE FAITH
As Christians we talk about faith, hope, love, salvation. Many feel like they need more faith. Most of us have felt like this from time to time. We find ourselves facing something difficult and feel like our faith is failing.
Even the apostles that were following Jesus asked for more faith.
Luke 17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
Without faith it is impossible to please God. But we do not get an infusion of more faith just because we ask for faith.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Hearing in this verse means understanding. So faith comes by understanding and understanding comes by the word of God. The more we study the word the more our faith in God grows. Because when faced with tough situations, we can use the word to strengthen us to keep going. We will automatically recall the stories of how saints of old overcame their seemingly impossible situations.
Luke 17:6-7 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
Two things we must know about mustard seed. When planted it turns into a large tree. Our faith can grow just like the mustard seed, big and strong. The second, mustard is pure, it is not so much the size of the seed as the authenticity and purity. Mustard stays mustard, it will not mix with other herbs. Our faith has to be pure and not mixed with doubt, negativity or other distractions.
The more we exercise our faith, the stronger it gets. Just like body building. Those people do not get those huge muscles by lifting five-pound weights. They keep adding to the amount that they can lift. Soon they are lifting large amounts of weight.
Faith means- Facing All I Trust Him.
Believing is having faith. Believing is accepting something as true even if you didn’t see it with your own eyes. I didn’t see Jesus die for my sins. I didn’t see him raised from the dead. I didn’t watch as some of his believers did when he ascended to heaven. But I believe it to be true, that is faith.
James 1:6-8 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Remember what I said about the mustard seed being pure. Our faith has to be pure. We are to ask in faith not wavering from our belief that God will grant our request. We cannot sway between two opinions like we are a boat being tossed in the waves of life. We cannot be double minded; we have to have our mind set with faith that God will answer our prayers. To be double minded is unstable and shows lack of faith.
I couldn’t try to help you increase your faith without going to my go to verse. It is one I use daily to keep me going the right way.
2 Cor 5:7 For we walk by faith and not by sight.
Many times, things look the opposite of how our faith needs to see them. We cannot depend on our natural senses to see situations in our lives. We have to look at them through the eyes of faith. Walking by faith means we believe God, even when our natural senses cannot find evidence.
Get in that word and increase your faith. We are about to walk through a season that we are going to have to rely on our faith to see us through. Because our natural eyes are going to want us to fall into fear and anxiety. But God is in control and we have to look to him to deliver his people from the evil of the enemy.
THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE: FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST
We as children of God are in a unique position to know the truth of God. Many are blinded by the lies of the evil one. Those of us who were raised in church often take for granted the message of the cross. We have become desensitize to the suffering of Jesus. He endured more than would be humanly possible and kept going. Because he understood what was at stake, our futures.
It is easy to get complacent in this life. Daily struggles and responsibilities distract us from what God would have us do. That is why I try to encourage you to keep your God Focus. It is something I have to remind myself of daily.
I had a thought I wanted to share with you. None of us are on the same spot on our journey. Some have been walking with God for many years. Others may have just made the big step to start turning over control to Jesus. It doesn’t matter where we are or how much bible we know, we can always grow in grace and wisdom.
Prov 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
We all have stumbled and fell short of God’s plan. We fall and we fail him. But we pick ourselves up and we start again. Use the natural for an example: There is a reason why young children are called toddlers. Because the are easy to fall. They are still learning balance and how to walk. As they mature into school age, they are steadier on their feet, but still fall occasionally.
This is how we are as Christians. When we first start our faith walk. We are unsteady, still wrapped up in the world in many ways. But we slowly begin to get our balance. We think we can walk, then the enemy comes along and tests that theory. We stumble and fall. God knows we are trying and he forgives us when we ask.
The next time the enemy comes with the same thing, we are a little wiser to his traps. This time we know how to avoid it. But with each new level in God there is a new level of devil to fight. This is why it is so important for us to learn to be led by the Spirit. This is why we need discernment so that we can resist the enemy.
This is not a journey we can do alone. We need the body of Christ. It is important to surround yourself with a group of people that have your back. People you can pray with and encourage as well as draw encouragement from for your walk. This is what church is about, finding a group of people that love God and love one another.
How does the world know we are followers of Christ. Is it our bumper sticker on our car? Is it the fact that we carry the bible with us everywhere we go? Is it the cool saying on our Christian T-shirt.
John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Some say love one for another. But the King James Version says love one to another which means we show that love. We don’t just have love for our brothers and sisters. But we give that love to them.
I hope this encourages you to seek God, walk closer and share the love he has given you with those around you. Love God and Love People, this is what we are called to do.
I often think about the children of Israel. They had believed God and saw many awesome things. But then they still turned and asked for a golden calf. They wanted to be God’s people when it benefitted them. But they didn’t learn to trust him. He took them to the promised land. But they refused to go in, so they wandered in the desert for forty years because of unbelief.
They were just one battle away from taking what belonged to them. Did they think that God wouldn’t go before them? Did they doubt his protection. They allowed fear to be bigger to them than their God. But before we judge them too harshly. We often do the same things to God.
We treat him like we don’t fully trust that he will work things out for our good. We want to believe and try to walk by faith. But sometimes we allow the enemy to speak fear into our hearts. Fear is not faith. It takes faith to please God. This is why they wandered for forty years until that generation had passed away.
Deut 5:27-29 Go thou near, and hear all that the Lord our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the Lord our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it. 28 And the Lord heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the Lord said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken. 29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
They told Moses to go hear what God had to say and tell them and they would do it. They made vows to follow God’s commands and to do the right thing. But God knew that they would build a calf and put it in his position as their god. He knew their hearts were not changed just because they were free from being in captivity.
His greatest desire is for us to fear him and keep his commandment. He wants fellowship with us as he did them. But sin separated them from God.
I cannot seem to get away from the ways we are like the children of Israel. At first chance they built them and idol of gold. We often have idols and don’t even realize it. These idols are in our hearts, which are the most dangerous. It is easy to see a statue and say it needs destroyed. People can get rid of it and repent.
We often have idols we do not even realize. Anything that comes between us and God is an idol. These things on their own may not be considered a bad thing. Our church, our ministries, our family and friends. If we put any of them before God it is idolatry and we may as well have a golden calf. Because our hearts are not 100% right. God has to be first. He must sit on the throne of our hearts. Then all the good things can be added to our lives. He has promised to add good things into our lives.
Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Most of us have been guilty of praying hard because we needed God to intervene in a situation. As soon as the crisis passed, we got busy with life and forgot God. Walking as a child of God means that we are consistent with our faith walk. We pray and believe in God when things are good as well as when they are bad.
This week I have been praying for God to search my heart. I want him to have his proper place in my life. I don’t want to be guilty of allowing my faith walk to waiver because things are good. I don’t want to forget that he saved me from the bondage of the evil one.
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Take sometime today to meditate on God’s word. Ask him to draw closer to you. Ask him to search you and to give you strength to walk by faith and not be double minded. We can overcome as long as we don’t forget what God has done for us.
