GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP448 JOY

CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEO VERSION: https://rumble.com/v71vsmc-god-focus-this-morning-ep448-joy.html

Ps 16:11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Joy is a state of being happy and fulfilled. Not because of who we are, but because we are in God’s presence. Joy is where our strength comes from in the Lord. Fullness refers to a state of being filled to capacity.

Even when our lives are busy and seem to be filled to capacity with things that we would rather not walk through, God is there. We need to seek him in all situations. He is always with us, but there are times we do not feel his presence.  But when the enemy comes along with his lies we can seek awareness of God’s presence and instead of dealing with the enemy we can find joy and peace in knowing God is with us and will never leave us to fight our battles.

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  ENCOURAGING WORDS

We often look to others when we are discouraged for them to say just the right thing to encourage us.  It is good to be surrounded by encouraging people.  I am blessed to have people in my circle to care and encourage me. God however is our reason to be encouraged.

At times God is quiet and we get discouraged. He wants us to be like David and encourage ourselves.  There are times when we have to dig down deep and find encouragement within. Job had to find his strength to keep going on because the enemy had been allowed to remove anyone who would be encouraging. Job believed God and determined within himself to keep going.

1 Sam 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

David was another one that was deeply discouraged. His army wanted to destroy him after their families had been taken at ziglag. But David prayed and God told him to pursue his enemies. He overtook them and recovered what the enemy had stolen.

We cannot allow the enemy to steal our peace. He cannot have our strength. We cannot allow him to discourage us. It is going to take us digging deep to find that encouragement. Remembering what God has already done for us will go a long way in us finding what we need to keep going.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP446 HONORING GOD

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  HONORING GOD

Christians often say, “The word works.” By this we mean that we can rely on the word of God. He has spoken over us and breathed into us life. He formed us in our mother’s womb and created us for a purpose. The word says we walk in victory.

There used to be a commercial that encouraged kid’s to read. It said, knowledge is power. The more we dig into God word the more we understand his power and anointing. We must learn to honor God and his word. Knowing the word will give us power to overcome whatever the enemy throws at us.

As God’s children it is time to be fully committed to following Jesus. The days of going through the motions is gone. We are at a moment of no return. People must decide if they are all in or if they are out. Now is not the time to be indecisive. Now is the time to honor our God with every thing we say or do.

Col 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Men will not understand who we are and what we do. The closer to God we get the less people are going to understand it. Whatsoever you do, we have to do it for the Lord and not worry about what people think. We must honor God and his will for our lives.

I Thes. 4:7-8  For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

God has called us to live holy and honor the Holy Ghost which is within us. He desires for us to draw closer to him. The more we honor him the more we will walk in the presence and power of his anointing. It means yielding your will fully to God.

Psalm 71:8 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.

We honor God by loving him with all of our heart. We worship him in spirit and truth. We pray and stay connected to him. We honor him by serving God with our gifts and talents that he has given us. We are showing him respect for what he has given us, by using what he has given us to honor him. We honor God by treating others with respect and by trying to help them in any way we are capable of helping.

We honor him with all the resources we have at our disposal including our time. I want to encourage you to honor God with all you have within you. We honor him by acknowledging that we are not anything without him.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP445 GOODBYE COMFORT ZONE

CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO VERSION: https://rumble.com/v71ky4m-god-focus-this-morning-ep445-goodbye-comfort-zone.html

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  GOODBYE COMFORT ZONE

All too often God speaks to us, and we do not want to do what he tells us to do.  Our flesh is uncomfortable doing certain things.  We need to push ourselves to be obedient. If we can just push ourselves to step outside the norm, God is waiting to give us new experiences.  Each new experience in Christ will prepare us to take the next step.

There were twelve disciples in a boat. The ship was comfortable, with little chance of drowning.  They were content going on their way.  Then they saw Jesus, walking on the water. When he bid Peter to step out and walk on the water, he did it.  Most people give him a hard time today.  They say, “Peter sank, when he took his eyes off of Jesus.”  This is true, but Jesus proved to him, that he would take care of him if he would just be obedient.

This was a serious lesson for Peter and the rest of them.  If Peter had stayed in the boat, he would have never experienced walking on water.  He would not have developed the deep faith that he would need to see him through his life.

These twelve men were going to carry the greatest news ever known to man.  They would be feared, ridiculed, imprisoned, beaten, mocked for preaching Jesus.  They needed a deep-rooted faith.  After all they were carrying a brand-new doctrine, the doctrine of Jesus Christ.

Many self-righteous religious filled people would not like the doctrine of being filled with God’s spirit. They were too full of self to realize that God could come and live within them and be their guide. They didn’t want to give up their control and people’s admiration of them in their positions of fake leadership.

We never understand why God tells us to step out of the boat.  We can be sure he has a very good reason.  It is to teach us a lesson or help someone else grow.  We need to be more like Peter, willing to leave our comfort zone. There are deeper levels to our walk with God than we could ever imagine.

But if we are like the other eleven, we will never experience all that God wants to teach us, because we allow fear to override our obedience. We do not push out of our comfort zone enough to follow God’s will for our lives.

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

God goes with us wherever we go, so we do not need to be afraid. We can be strong and courageous, because He lives within us. We can face any giant as long as we are like David and go to battle in the name of the Lord.

Psalm 27:13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

We often want to run into battle when it is not time or we do not want to go at all even when God says go. We must wait on the Lord’s timing. But when he says go, we have to be willing to move our feet. His word tells us he will give us the strength, he will go before us and fight for us. We just have to show up. Why do we hesitate? Why do we hold back from God? Why can’t we step out of the boat? Do we lack courage?

Deep within every believer there is the heart of a warrior. A heart that has surrendered a few times to the will of God. Learning to find that moment of courage within us will help us to become the bold children of God we are called to be; those who have courage.

I want to encourage you to keep praying for the courage to step out of your comfort zone. It’s past time for the body of Christ to arise and do God’s will by saying goodbye to the comfort zone.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP444 FINDING VICTORY

CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO VERSION: https://rumble.com/v71iu74-god-focus-this-morning-ep444-finding-victory.html

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  FINDING VICTORY

You can be an overcomer. You can walk in victory. Yesterday I talked to you about finding surrender. It is going to take us surrendering to God to be able to walk in victory. I want to share with you some verses that will encourage you.

Everyday we are in a spiritual battle. Somedays we have to fight and fight hard. Other times the enemy backs off to lick his wounds and try to find a different approach to tear us down. But make no mistake, God will not let us be overtaken by the enemy.  When the battles seem to be the hardest, we can rest in the fact that we will overcome by the blood of the Lamb.

I John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

We cannot overcome the world unless we are born of God. This is why it is so hard for people sometimes to make the first step toward yielding to Christ. Because they do not have enough overcoming power yet. It truly takes a large step of faith. But we gain victory in our initial surrender.

Rom 8:35-37 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

In tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril or threat of the sword we are greater than a conqueror, more than a conqueror through Jesus that loved us. If the power of God lives within us, we can overcome whatever we face. God will not allow us to face anything we are not ready to handle.

I Cor. 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Victory is a gift from God through Jesus and the power we have been give from him. It is not our efforts or strength; victory comes from our obedience and surrender.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

We too can overcome the world because Jesus gives us victory. He is our peace and strength. Finding victory means that our faith aligns to what God says and not what our circumstances says. The report of the enemy will fail in the light of God’s power. We have to believe God’s report. His word, his report says that we have victory over our enemy. We must come into alignment with his word, which says we have the victory.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP443 FINDING SURRENDER

CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEO VERSION: https://rumble.com/v71hbkk-god-focus-this-morning-ep443-finding-surrender.html

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  FINDING SURRENDER

We often think about total surrender to the will of God as an amazing place. But our flesh wants to fight against that perfect place. In the surrender is everything we will ever need, God’s peace, joy, strength, salvation, hope and love. The struggle is not a new one but is as old as Adam and Eve. They lost their surrender to God when they ate of the tree that God told them to not eat. Their disobedience led to our struggles today.

Even Jesus prayed, let this cup pass from me. The man part of Jesus didn’t want to endure the pain and suffering. Then he did what we all need to learn to do more easily, he surrendered his will to the Father. He said not my will but yours be done.

Surrender to God and his will is not a one-time thing. Many feels like when they repent and ask Jesus to be Lord of their life that they have surrendered. That is just the beginning of our surrender. It is an everyday, several times a day thing. We have to strengthen our inner man. While our freshly one is kicking and screaming, wanting control.

Surrender is extremely hard for type A personalities, ones that are used to being in control. Intellectually we understand that God is good and only has our best interests at heart. We know we can trust him to take care of us and give us a good outcome. We understand he can give us a better outcome than we can get on our own. We know he is loving and will not do anything to be cruel. Yet we find ourselves pulling back out of fear.

Reading the Psalms you will see David struggled with surrender at times. He fell down; he committed sin. Yet he was a man after God’s heart, because he worshiped and surrendered a large portion of the time to God and his will.

The closer we get to God the less people are going to understand us. But by following a little closer and surrendering more, we will be better equipped to do the work of the Lord, thus being a help to those around us.

How do we get to that surrender? How do we stay there? These questions are hard to answer.

Surrender means recognizing we need to humble ourselves before God and yield to his authority. Give up our control and deny our person ambitions.

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

It comes down to a made-up mind to follow Christ, no matter the cost. It means that we will say I trust you Lord to know what to do, even when I am unsure.

Matt 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

It takes daily struggling to put God first by denying our fleshly will. It is a conscious decision to surrender our will. Praying daily asking God to guide our day and learning and knowing his word are ways of submitting to God.

This is why Paul said I die daily. He understood taking up the cross daily and living a life of surrender to God’s will and not his desires.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

By daily doing what we believe is the right thing and God’s will we are living sacrifices unto God. It takes commitment every day to say, God I want your will today and not my will. I submit myself to you today to do your will above my own. Surrender is not a one-time act of repentance, it goes beyond that one time. Although that is a good start, we must learn how to walk in the spirit.

Gal. 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Walking in the Spirit, by faith is the key to finding total surrender. It is an everyday choice to take up our cross and follow Jesus.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP 442 STILL WATERS

CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEO VERSION: https://rumble.com/v71h9ug-god-focus-this-morning-ep442-still-waters.html

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE: STILL WATERS

As our shepherd Jesus watches over us. There are so many deep things in just the few verses of the 23rd Psalm.

PSALM 23:1-3 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

The first three verses alone tell us we will not want, he will take us to a place where we can have what we need. Like a shepherd leads his sheep into green pastures, for them that is a place of abundance. In an open pasture there is less chance of attack from an enemy, because they are in the open where the shepherd can watch them.

Sheep are terrified of moving water. If they fall in, they will drown, because their fleece will soak up water. They will not drink from moving streams even when thirsty. The shepherd knows this about his sheep and finds still waters or dams up water to give a sense of safety and rest to his sheep.

He leads us to green pastures and still waters because he wants to refresh and renew us. Sheep are dumb and will drink from any non-moving water, even muddy or stagnate. This is why the shepherd has to keep constant eye on his sheep.

God is a hand’s on God, he watches over us twenty-four seven. He will lead and guide us into all truth if we depend on him.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Our strength is renewed when we wait for him to lead us to that place of rest. Then our strength is renewed. His path of righteousness is our strengthening place. If you have ever stood on the edge of a body of water, a lake for example and there is not a lot of people around. The breeze blows gently on your face and you feel like God is quieting all your anxiety and stress.  It is like peace washes over you, when you look for God in the gentle breeze beside the still water.

Anxiety and depression cannot overwhelm us when we find that place of peace in Jesus. He will destroy our emotional triggers and remove our anxiety, depressions and fears. Fear is not from God and he will remove all our fears, because he is our good shepherd. We have to be willing to give him our cares. He knows the things we think and fear. He hears the enemy whispering in our ears. He will counteract those lies if we seek for our shepherd to give us peace.

Only in him can we get out soul renewed and restored. He will strengthen us when we become weak. All the cares of this life that tries to drag us down, he will lift us up above them. When we find ourselves battle weary, we must find our way to a place of quiet and allow him to refresh and restore our souls.  This will give us what we need to keep moving on and doing the will of our good shepherd.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP441 SUPERNATURAL TURNAROUND

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  SUPERNATURAL TURNAROUND

Things often appear bleak to our natural eyes. We find our situations look impossible. Our flesh can easily fall into fear and doubt if we do not fight it. But when it is the darkest, that is when the light of hope can shine the brightest. We find that our situations are in need of a supernatural turnaround.

Our God is the God of the impossible, a God of miracles. People often say, we don’t see miracles like we used to in the churches. Maybe, people stopped expecting miracles. Maybe we got too self-sufficient and stopped relying on God to take care of our situations, until they get so big that we cannot do anything else and we give them to him to fix.

Many stories in the bible looked like the worst case scenario. Like there was no way out of the situations for God’s people; earthly death was eminent.

Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den. Then there was a supernatural turnaround and what the enemy meant for bad, God turned it around. Daniel came out of the lion’s den without a scratch. This proved to people who was truly God.

The three Hebrew men were thrown into the fiery furnace. It wasn’t bad enough that it was a fiery furnace, but it was heated up seven times hotter than normal. So much so that the ones that threw them in died from the heat. But there was a supernatural turnaround. They were not in the fire alone. We are never in our fiery trials alone either, even when it feels like it.

The children of Israel were standing at the Red Sea, boxed in on two sides by mountains and the enemy closing in, but there was a sudden supernatural parting of the water. They crossed on dry land. God pays attention to details, he knew it had to be dry for them to cross or they would have been stuck in the mud with their carts and wagons. The supernatural turnaround left them safely on the other side with their enemies covered in the massive walls of water.

Jehosophat was under threat from three armies coming from three directions. It looked like there was no hope for him and his army. Imagine three armies against one, in the natural that would have been almost impossible to win. But God intervened and gave them a supernatural turnaround. God’s intervention left all three armies dead and Jehosophat’s army to collect the spoils.

Everyone of us at some point faces something that we need God to step in the middle with a supernatural turnaround. He is in the saving business and does not wish for his people to suffer. But if we do not have resistance, we do not grow.

My husband often spoke about trees and spiritual growth. He loved nature and would read about plants for hours. One lesson we can take away from resistance is that it makes us stronger. Trees in enclosed environments without wind will never be strong. When a young tree is whipped around by the winds of a storm it makes tiny tears or cracks in the wood. The tree then must repair those places. It speeds growth to the tears. This fortifies the tree so it can grow stronger. The wind makes the tree stronger just like our adversities.

We too would never grown spiritually without opposition of the enemy. We grow stronger by repairing the vulnerable spots that the enemy attacked us in, so that we will not be vulnerable to that attack again. Every attack of the enemy is potential for growth. God will allow things to make us stronger. We have to ride out the storm. But he will protect us from danger and give us a supernatural turnaround. All we have to do is keep our focus in him and obey his words.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP440 FIGHTING FEAR

CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO VERSION: https://rumble.com/v71ahu8-god-focus-this-morning-ep440-fighting-fear.html

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  FIGHTING FEAR

In Job we find a verse that sums up why we should not walk in fear.

Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

The fear was bigger to us than our faith in God. When people focus on their fears, they will find a way to manifest. It’s like if you ever read your horoscope of the morning and it says something’s going to happen, if you truly believe that horoscopes are real then you’ll find a way to make that happen. Then they will say, my horoscope said that this thing was gonna happen. If you wait until the end of the day and read it, none of that happened, because it wasn’t what you focused on, the suggestion was not there to manipulate your thoughts.

The same goes for fear, if worry and anxiety is at the forefront of your thoughts, then the things you worry about will manifest in your life. Fear is from the enemy. He wants nothing more than to distract our focus from God. He loves to cause us to be caught up in fear. When we walk in fear we cannot hear God clearly. We spend a lot of energy being tormented by the enemy.

I John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

We will not fear if we can fully accept that Jesus has got us. Fear is the enemy trying to get us to lean on our own understanding and ideas. Fear causes us to read things into our situations that do not belong. And through the manipulation of the enemy we start to believe the fears. Anyone who has ever been bound by the spirit of fear or by anxiety will verify that it is torment. Which puts us where the enemy wants us. But we don’t have to live in torment. Jesus is our peace. We fight the battle in our minds. We fight the fiery darts of fear and anxiety with the word of God. Keeping our focus on our faith will go a long way in alleviating the lies that create fear.

2 Tim 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

This says that fear doesn’t come from God. If it’s not from God then there is only one other place it could come from; our enemy. God gives us power to overcome the enemy. He gives us power to endure our trials. He gives us love and peace in our minds. We have a choice in the matter, whose report are we going to believe? God’s report says we have a sound mind. God’s report that says we have peace that passes all understanding.  Will we allow fear to overtake us and believe all the lies of the enemy. The battle is truly in our minds. We can be overcomers by quoting the word to the enemy. If you don’t know it well enough to quote it, open the word and read it to the enemy. When we resist the devil, he has to flee and take his fear and anxiety with him.

GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING EP429

CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO VERSION: https://rumble.com/v718r0u-god-focus-this-morning-ep439-purpose-of-a-believer.html

WELCOME TO GOD FOCUS THIS MORNING

THE TITLE FOR TODAY’S EPISODE:  PURPOSE OF A BELIEVER

I have a deep question today, what is our purpose as a believer?  The word says we are made in the image of God. There is a purpose to our lives once we have become children of God. I want to cover the purpose of being a believer. We each have a unique calling to be fulfill in our lives. God will lead us into that particular path for our lives.

However, on a more general note, we all have been filled with the power of God for a purpose. I want to go into those purposes a little with you this morning. We were created to know God personally. We were made in the image of God.  He wants nothing more than to have a relationship with us.

Hebrews 10:22: Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

James 4:8: Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

BECOMING LIKE CHRIST

Our purpose is to become more like Christ.  He desires for us to have unity of faith. He has equipped his body to have stability in him. We should know the truth and stand on it. It is not his wish for us to be tossed about with every wind of doctrine and deceit of man. We need to be more like Christ. He will empower us to do his will and fulfill our purpose.

Eph 4:11-15 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

Our purpose is to be witnesses and share the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the world. This is where most of our purpose lies in bringing glory to our Father and to lead the lost to Christ. This is every Christian’s purpose. We have different ways of doing this through our unique purpose, but it all works together for the glory of our God.

In summary, our purpose is to work with other believers to bring honor to the name of Jesus. To witness to the lost and point them to Christ. He has equipped the ministry with offices that will function to keep the body on the right path as we go forth and show the world God’s love. We are all called to love and to serve. That love and service means different things for each person. However, the results will work the purpose of God in the earth and bring unity to the body of Christ and salvation to the lost.
