The title of today’s episode is: “PRAISE AND VICTORY”
I COR 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We have victory. There are times when we may not feel very victorious. Even in those times we have victory because of the blood of Jesus. We often don’t see things clearly because of our emotions. We can’t see the big picture of how things are going to work out. We feel like we are defeated, but that is the enemy’s way of distracting us from the goodness of God.
God is faithful in pulling us through anything we face in life. When bad news hits us like a semi-truck, we don’t feel victorious. We feel pain that has flattened us and taken the wind from our lungs. God is right there making sure we have air in our lungs so we can keep breathing.
He already sees the way we will rise from our ashes and hurt. He sees us victorious. Even when we cannot imagine ever being in a place of victory. The same thing goes for anyone struggling with an addiction. God sees them on the other side of that struggle. He sees them victorious. But they cannot imagine a time when they will have victory.
Job is the perfect example of this, he had the victory. God knew that he would not let his circumstances dictate his victory. Satan tried everything. To everyone around him, things looked like Job would never have victory again. But he held onto God through the process. He came out the other side victorious. Victory was always there; they just couldn’t see it for the circumstances.
1 Cor 5:7 We walk by faith and not by sight.
When we are walking through tough moments and we cannot see the victory, we pray. God says, “Wait.”
Waiting is the last thing we ever want to do. None of us enjoy the quiet time of waiting. We are the microwave generation. But God’s timing is perfect.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
We will rise above everything that is coming against us. If we wait on the Lord, He will give us strength. He will not allow us to be overtaken. Victory will be ours as long as we trust in Him.
We have to praise God when we are waiting for our victory.
Exodus 17:10-12 — So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12 But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
Hur and Aaron held up Moses’ hands, and Joshua and the Children of Israel prevailed against Amalek. As long as he held up his hands, they gained ground. When his arms were let down, the tables turned, and they started losing.
We need to lift our hands and praise the Lord. Not because of what we need Him to do. Not because of our circumstances, but because of who He is and because He is worthy of our praise. Giving God praise and worship will distract our minds until we see our breakthrough. If we keep our hands lifted up, we will see our victory.
1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
If you need victory, wait and praise the Lord. He will come through at just the right moment.
